- Dr. Sibylle Mazot was born in 1962 in Paris, studied history and art history at the Sorbonne and in 1995 gained her doctorate from there on the Islamic influence on architecture in the Norman kingdom of Sicily. She has been involved in several excavations in Sicily and Tunisia, written articles on Muslim influences on the medieval architecture of Palermo, and taken part in several international scientific conferences.
